a little about the brand

Her Creative Studio creates thoughtful, clean styled stock photography for creatives, shop owners, bloggers and women entrepreneurs who crave a fabulous brand but struggle to do it themselves.

I give you the creative tools you need to get noticed, build an audience and grow your sales, all while making it feel effortless.

I began this adventure with the hopes of meeting like-minded people like you, sharing our stories and inspiring each others creativity. Motivated by a passion to support women in business, my vision is to grow Her Creative Studio into a valuable resource that will help you achieve all your business goals.  I love to meet other creatives, bloggers and entrepreneurs! As a community of hustling women (and momma's) it's so important to inspire those who want to do the same and champion those who already have!

The story behind the name? It's short but sweet. I named it after my three loves; my two daughters and my husband, who's initials spell H.E.R.

A little about me

I’m a Toronto girl, born and raised, now living with my two sweet little girls and my busy, supportive husband. I spent most of my professional life in the printing industry (primarily for print media) as a graphic designer and seven of those years loving and nurturing my own brick and mortar print shop before launching my freelance graphic design business in 2010 and then my stock photography shop in 2014. Most recently I have opened the Stock Library and am super excited about some big collaborations planned for 2018.

My love for photography grew from a demand by clients who needed images for their branding and when my husband gave me a Nikon for my daughters first birthday, I was hooked. I am 100% self taught and absolutely love the challenges of learning and growing as a content creator and photographer.

I love a great tote bag, sans serif typography, being surrounded by pretty things and most of all being a mom to two little girls.  I see beauty in clean designs and lots of white space. I'm an introvert who is hopelessly indecisive, drinks way to much coffee, and most people don't know that I am an obsessive book reader.

Nowadays you’ll find me at home with my girls, buried under toys, photo props, light stands, dishes, laundry and dust bunnies. I love working from my home and am truly grateful everyday that this is what I get to do.

I hope you enjoy your time spent here and I look forward to learning lots about you!

GIVING BACK

Every time you purchase a Her Creative Studio product you are helping to sponsor children from the poorest parts of the world.

Every month, proceeds from Her Creative Studio sales are used to sponsor two children from Mali, West Africa. Together we sponsor a nine year old boy through World Vision and a three year old girl through Plan Canada's 'Because I am a girl' Initiative. Sponsoring helps provide food, clean water, healthcare and education for these children and their families. It is my goal to continue to sponsor more children in need as Her Creative Studio grows. Thank you for helping make that happen!

PLAN CANADA

Because I am a Girl is a global initiative that works to end gender inequality, promote girls’ rights and help millions of girls out of poverty. They work to improve girls’ access to clean water, food, healthcare, education, and protection from violence and exploitation.

Plan Canada Because I am a Girl

In 2016 proceeds from my annual Black Friday Sale was used to purchase a farmload of animals. Animals like chickens, pigs, sheep and goats that are divided between families in a community to help feed children and generate income to pay for housing, health care and education.

WORLD VISION

World Vision helps children, their families, and their communities by responding to the root causes of poverty. Child Sponsorship works to build education, give access to safe water, create sustainable food supplies and access to things like medical clinics, vaccinations, training in disease prevention and other health care programs.

Worldvision.ca

In 2016 proceeds from my annual Black Friday Sale was used to purchase medicine for 10 children, agricultural packs for 6 families to grow their own food and 'Most Needed Projects' like emergency food for children in crisis. A donation was also made to our sponsored child's community to provide things like school supplies, sports equipment and more.
